Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I get pest control?
Most Lexington homes do best on quarterly pest control, once every three months, to hold a year-round barrier against the Midlands' steady pest pressure. Homes near Lake Murray, on wooded lots, or with an active problem may need more frequent visits during peak season. Blue Jays sets your schedule from what the first visit actually finds, not a one-size plan.
Are your treatments safe for kids and pets?
Yes. Blue Jays uses professional products applied by a licensed technician, and treated areas are safe once they have dried, usually within about an hour. For yard mosquito and flea services, keep pets off the treated area during the visit and for one hour after. Nick treats every home like it is his own.
Are termite inspections free?
No. A termite or bed bug inspection with Blue Jays is $75, and we will never advertise it as free. Nick would rather be upfront than run a bait-and-switch. That $75 pays for a real, careful inspection of your home, and if you move forward, you get a clear scope and honest pricing with no pressure.
What areas do you cover?
Blue Jays is based in Lexington and serves the Lake Murray and greater Columbia area, including West Columbia, Cayce, Chapin, Irmo, Leesville, and the Newberry County towns, plus Rock Hill about an hour north. Coverage follows specific towns and ZIP codes rather than whole counties, so call if you are not sure your address is in range.
